Dermal Fillers are made from Hyaluronic Acid, a sugar naturally found in the human body, but is lost progressively as part of the natural aging process, together with Collagen and Elastin. Dermal Filler gels, when injected under the facial skin, can smooth out lines and replace volume lost, thereby restoring the face’s youthful appearance. Dermal Filler injections are the second (first being Anti-Wrinkle injections) most commonly performed cosmetic procedure in the world as they are safe, effective, affordable, non-invasive, non-surgical, quick, with minimal discomfort, side effects and very little down time.

Frequently Asked Questions

What areas are Dermal Fillers most commonly used for?

Common areas treated include sunken tear troughs, nasolabial folds, marionette lines, jaw lines, cheek augmentation, chin augmentation and lip enhancement.

Are Dermal Fillers safe?

Yes, they are naturally occurring sugars that have been used for a decade without any reports of long term side effects.

What are their side effects?

Major side effects are uncommon, but swelling and bruising may occur.  Make-up can be used to cover up.

What are their side effects?

Treatment involves having a small number of small injections in the target facial muscles. As the needles used are extremely fine and the volumes injected are very small, discomfort is typically minimal and brief, and generally well tolerated.

The treatment generally takes about 20-30 minutes.

What does treatment with Dermal Filler involve?

At this clinic, we only used TGA (Therapeutic Goods Administration) approved products that come pre-incorporated with local anaesthetics, thereby reducing discomfort to a minimum. Ice and, occasionally, local anaesthetic cream may be used prior to injections.

The treatment generally takes about 30 minutes.

How long will it be for the results to take affect and how long will they last?

The results are immediate. They can last from 6 to 12 months, depending on the product used and the area treated. With subsequent treatments, results can last up to 18 months.

How much does it cost?

Cost depends on the product used and the number of syringes required for your areas of concerns. At the initial obligation-free, no out-of-pocket cost consultation, our doctor will be able to advise you of the cost.

Can Dermal Fillers and Anti-Wrinkle injections be used together?

Yes, in fact, they will complement each other’s effects and prolong each other’s lasting effect.

Is there anything I need to pay attention to prior to having Dermal Filler injections?

Ensure you stop Aspirin, Nurofen or other anti-inflammatory medications (as they increase the risk of bleeding and bruising) for one week prior to injection, if medically safe to do so. Avoid heavy make-up on the day of injections.

What will I look like if I decide not to have another treatment?

If you decide not to have another treatment, your skin will return to its natural pre treatment condition.
